Twitch testing new paid boost feature

Twitch has begun testing a new paid boost feature on the streaming platform. Boost has been available as a test since last December and allows viewers to pool free channel points to boost a streamer to a front page slot for extra promotion. Now, instead of channel points, viewers will be able to pay money to achieve the same. However, streamers will not receive any share of that money. Twitch product manager Jacob Rosok explained the new feature during the latest Patch Notes video on 30th September. [Read More]

Why I Hate… Resident Evil 4

Page 1 of 2 Next page The thing about sequels is you know what to expect. The conventions of the franchise are usually well established; they're familiar, comforting even. They're what gives the game its identity. Games critics try to approach sequels with an understanding of what the franchise in question does well and where it could improve. Face-Off: Alien: Isolation | Eurogamer.net

First impressions of Alien: Isolation suggested parity between the PS4 and Xbox One versions, with both sporting native 1080p visuals while sharing an extensive range of assets and graphical effects. Performance is an issue though, with PS4 commanding a distinct advantage thanks to a more consistent frame-rate and a complete lack of screen tear. On the basis of those results, it seems like a clear win for Sony's system, but with the game available across no less than five different systems we were also interested to see how Creative Assembly's game translated onto the ageing Xbox 360 and PS3, and of course what benefits the PC version brings.
