The most heavily funded game on Patreon was just cancelled.
Breeding Season was described as an "unholy combination of a farming sim and a sex game" about breeding people and anime-inspired fantasy humanoids. This niche elevator pitch convinced 10,796 backers to collectively pledge $42.3k a month to the project. According to stat-tracking site Pledge Society, that made it the most highly-funded video game currently on Patreon and the second most-funded project overall.

Fatesworn, the new expansion for last year's Kingdoms of Amalur remaster, is still in production and almost done.
That's according to developer Kaiko, who today released a screenshot of the DLC while it is "wrapping up the final stages of production".
Kingdoms of Amalur first released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012 to decent reviews but poor sales and a messy legal situation. Eight years later, publisher THQ Nordic released its Re-Reckoning remaster for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

Popular PC hero shooter Paladins is now available to all as a free-to-play game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Paladins is Steam's most-played new game of last year. It launched in the wake of Blizzard's own hero shooter Overwatch, but had the advantage of being a free-to-play game.
