PS Plus is using PAL versions of first-party PS1 games

It appears that Sony is using the PAL version of PS1 classics in its PS Plus subscription. The subscription has now launched in Asia, but - as spotted by VGC - some PS1 games are using the PAL (Europe, Australia, New Zealand) version instead of the NTSC (Asia, America). That means they're presented in 50Hz instead of 60Hz, resulting in a lower refresh rate and therefore lower framerates. [Read More]

Will there be a PS3 version of The Witcher 2?

It sounds like a PlayStation 3 version of The Witcher 2 hangs in the balance - does CD Projekt remake the same adventure again for a new audience, or does it build a new adventure for existing fans? Seven months ago, modestly sized Polish developer CD Projekt Red said it would "love" to do a PS3 version of the celebrated role-playing game. Four months ago, questions about a PS3 decision were batted away because CD Projekt was focused squarely on the Xbox 360 adaptation, due April. [Read More]

Worms WMD review | Eurogamer.net

20 years and countless games later, Team 17 rediscovers some of the old magic for Worms. Worms WMD is something like the 20th Worms game to have been produced by Team 17 during the past two decades, and I'd run out of fingers and toes to count on before even getting to the spin-offs (Worms Crazy Golf anyone?). Over the past two decades Team17 has tried reinvigorating the series in a variety of ways, including moving the gameplay from 2D to 3D, through to introducing different classes of Worms. [Read More]

AMD RX 6700 XT review: the Digital Foundry verdict

Previous page Page 7 of 7 With our benchmarks in the books, it's clear that the Radeon RX 6700 XT is undoubtedly a strong graphics card for $479/£419. AMD aimed to follow up the RX 5700 XT with a card that delivers significantly better 1080p and 1440p performance at a $20 lower price point, and they've easily achieved those goals. For anyone on that three to five year upgrade cycle, that'll translate into a big performance uplift against the likes of a GTX 1070 or Vega 56, plus a host of nifty future-looking features like real-time ray tracing, HDMI 2. Another Call of Duty: Warzone exploit has been fixed, this time for unbreakable gas masks

Another day, another game-breaking glitch in Call of Duty: Warzone. It wasn't quite the infamous stim glitch, but the end result was similar, as this time players found an exploit that allowed them to create unbreakable gas masks. Thankfully, this particular method has now been patched out by Raven. In your average game of Warzone, masks are supposed to degrade when you sit outside the ring, eventually breaking so that you start taking damage from the gas (and die). [Read More]

Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 Ti OC review: top-tier SLI tested

4K displays are becoming mainstream now, prices are tumbling and graphics rendering technology is finally able to take advantage of these new screens, whether it's through checkerboarding or other upscaling, as seen on PS4 Pro, or else through sheer brute force in the PC space. Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti still commands a price premium, but it's the most affordable GPU we've seen yet that powers PC gaming to native 4K at 60fps without too much in the way of visual compromises.
