Carrion review - an unforgettable monster chews its way out of a solid Metroidvania

A squirming body horror labyrinth whose mix of ability-gating and backtracking slightly cramps its matchless creature design. Discussing the creature design in his gruesome 1982 adaptation of The Thing - a movie which, incidentally, opens with Kurt Russell losing his shit over a computer game - John Carpenter once observed that "I didn't want to end up with a guy in a suit". It's a pitfall many so-called "reverse-horror" games tumble into. [Read More]

Final Fantasy 15's invincible armour now looks less like Power Rangers

Final Fantasy 15 players can finally clad themselves in the game's long-awaited invincibility armour - after a redesign to make it look less like the Power Rangers. Here are Square Enix's initial designs, which were criticised by fans upon their reveal back in February for looking too much like the '90s cartoon heroes (or, specifically, their recent film reboot selves): And here's what the armour looks like now, (thanks Gamekana). The Resident Evil 2 remake deluxe edition has a cool nod to the scrapped Resident Evil 1.5

Capcom's revealed the gubbins in the deluxe edition of the Resident Evil 2 remake - and it includes some cool fan service. Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls

Order yours now from Simply Games. There are a number of schools of thought on retro gaming. It's probably important, in the context of this review, that I pin my colours to the mast here - most old games are rubbish.
