Pokémon X & Y review

At some point during the creation of a new Pokémon title, the development team makes a journey to the region in which the game will be loosely set. Once there, they hire a knowledgeable cab driver to drive them around the local sights and act as an impromptu tour guide, reporting details that the team will later use to colour their game. With this in mind, you have to wonder whether the Parisian cabbie hired to look after team making Pokémon X & Y - the sixth 'generation' of Tokyo-based Game Freak's world-conquering series - let his imagination run away with him somewhat. Sid Meier's Civilization V | Eurogamer.net

Page 1 of 2 Next page I, like many others, have been playing Civilization games for well over a decade. Over this time I've developed several habits and ticks that have become ingrained in my play style. I habitually name my first city 'WillisCool', the second city 'WillisVeryCool' and (should any metropolis be founded near a particularly disputed border) the third: 'F***theRomans'. Or indeed any other civilisation I wish to textually bait. [Read More]

Undertale review | Eurogamer.net

One of 2015's very best gets a well-handled port to PlayStation - and Toby Fox's wonderful RPG finds the perfect home on the Vita. Undertale is a game all about endings, so it's fitting that its console release comes towards the tail-end of one particular piece of hardware's life. If this is a finale of sorts for Sony's PlayStation Vita, then it's a wonderfully apt one - there's something irresistible about the pairing of a handheld that became the home of a number of indie darlings and this, the indie phenomenon of the past few years. 343 warns Halo Infinite players not to Quick Resume the campaign

343 has warned Halo Infinite players against using the Xbox's Quick Resume feature for the campaign. The campaign, which released yesterday, is set on a large slice of a Halo ring. Dotted around the ring are armour lockers that, once found, unlock cosmetics for use in the multiplayer. However, if you are offline or disconnected from the Halo servers, these cosmetics will not show up in your multiplayer inventory. The Halo Infinite campaign - every console tested. [Read More]

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

Page 1 of 2 Next page Is there anything in the world quite as intrinsically homoerotic as being a fighter pilot? It's not a topic we'd normally dwell on, but playing Ace Combat 6 this week has caused the question to raise its head. Every single person who's stopped by to watch has made a point of offering to "be your wingman any time!", generally in their best affected camp voice; the joke got old, but we got the point. Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale Enhanced Editions all just got a significant update. Call of Duty 3 | Eurogamer.net

Unless you've spent the last week or so in a coma after being brained by a flying Wiimote, you're probably aware by now of just how successful the launch of Nintendo's latest has been - but a trawl of gamer opinion would reveal that among the hardcore, at least, there's still some skepticism over the long-term prospects for the console. That's not really based on any level of mistrust for Nintendo's ability to keep delivering great experiences for the Wii - the DS' track record banishes any lingering doubt in that regard - but rather on a well-founded concern over how third party publishers will cope with things like the new control scheme and the vast imbalance in power between this and other next-gen systems. We are in development on a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will be taking place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. [Read More]
