UPDATE 3/12/21: Battlefield 2042 developer DICE has responded to yesterday's leak of an upcoming Santa Claus skin - which caused a backlash among fans of the military shooter.
In a long Twitter thread, DICE did not mention the Santa skin by name - but did talk generally about the use of "unique cosmetics" it had designed for "special #Battlefield Portal modes to further enhance the fantasy in special events". The suggestion, then, is that you won't be able to run around as Santa in all modes forever.

There's no BioWare masterplan behind Mass Effect 3 not supporting gamepads on PC - the team was overstretched and couldn't spare the time and effort required. "There is a development cost in terms of time/effort to get all the graphical user interfaces so 360 buttons show up on PC," senior designer Manveer Heir explained to Eurogamer reader j0hn385 on Twitter. "It may seem minor, but our GUI team was already stretched thin, and things were coming in at the last minute, so we couldn't add more work.

Bigger and better - but there's not enough genuinely new for Destiny 2 to achieve greatness. Destiny 2 feels like an apology. It is the righting of the wrongs committed by the divisive Destiny 1, a game I couldn't help but pump a thousand hours into despite it often feeling like pulling teeth.

Drat. Yet another ugly carpet from that smug-looking camel. Within only a few days of playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I'd noticed I was already accumulating vast amounts of unwanted stuff, be it from balloons or suspicious travelling merchants. And as that unwanted stuff gathered dust while stored away in my house, I was also having problems finding items I actually wanted. In the early game, at least, New Horizons puts limits on what you can buy on your island on any one day, with most permanent stores run by the Nook family racket.

Minecraft's PC version has finally hit version 1.9, which developer Mojang has named the Combat Update.
As you might expect, the game's rather basic fighting mechanics have seen the biggest changes.
Players can now craft shields to defend themselves from enemy attacks. And, for the first time in more than six years of Minecrafting, players can now officially dual-wield items in the game.
This extends outside of combat, too - meaning you can dig with a spade and hold open your map, or plant torches down at the same time.
