Someone did it - a child born on the Skyrim release date of 11th November 2011 has been named Dovahkiin. Parents Megan and Eric Kellermeyer (and presumably baby Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer) will, as promised, now receive free Bethesda games for life. The Bethesda blog wished the family all the best. On the family's web comic blog, parent "Jade Griffin" (presumably Megan Kellermeyer) discussed - a day before the birth - the naming conundrum.

Remedy's excellent Control will join Xbox Game Pass for PC this week this Thursday, 21st January.
Microsoft announced the new addition yesterday via its Game Pass Twitter account. Control is already available on Game Pass for Android and Xbox consoles, and has been since early December.
If you've not yet played Control, it's well worth a try - especially on PC, where it looks sublime.

You get a first taste of this as part of The Invitation quest, which helps you unlock The Menagerie as part of Year 2's Annual Pass DLC.

Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition hits PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S with improved framerate, advanced shaders, better textures and an upgraded resolution, Private Division said. There's also full support for mouse and keyboard.

Knockout City will get an update on 2nd November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, upgrading the game's performance and visuals. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, the game runs at native 4K and 60fps - or 1440p (1620p on Series X) upscaled to 4K at 120fps.
On Xbox Series S, it runs at 1440p at 60fps - or 1080p at 120fps. All platforms also gain improved textures and lighting.

Nearly 12 million people are still playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Treyarch's three-year-old shooter still enjoys a huge, active community, which, Activision said in a recent financial call, hit a new record of nearly 12 million monthly active users during the last quarter (July, August and September 2015).
It's an impressive number for a game only available on the last-generation of consoles and PC.
Perhaps that's why Activision will release this year's game, Black Ops 3, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 despite having to strip it from crucial features such as a campaign mode that are included in the current-generation versions.

Sony may have stopped making PlayStation 2 hardware at the end of 2012, but if Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is anything to go by, then the spirit of PS2 software is alive and well. Pinwheeling through history with Sly and his other anthropomorphic animal buddies on the tail of an arch criminal is like taking yourself back in time to a more innocent and carefree world of gaming - and initially at least, it's a pleasant diversion from all the grit of the present day.
