FPS Boost for Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76: performance is great - but there is a catch

We've run the ruler over Microsoft's first wave of FPS Boost titles and came away impressed, while our thoughts for the Arkane-developed duo of Prey and Dishonored Definitive Edition were perhaps even more gushing. Our coverage continues with a look at the Bethesda Games Studio titles running on the Creation Engine and impressions are a little more mixed this time. Skyrim lands exactly where we expected and works beautifully overall, but the Fallout titles are a little more puzzling. [Read More]

Here's how Far Cry 4 co-op works if you don't have the game

Far Cry 4's co-op is available to people who don't own Far Cry 4. How is this possible, you ask? It starts with a client. Like the 3DS's download play, PS4 users without Far Cry 4 will be able to download a separate app that allows them to be invited into their friends' Far Cry 4 games. It's going to be a colossal app, since it will contain all of the game's content sans its story-based missions - which are the only content available exclusively in single-player. [Read More]

Introducing Stick Shift: a game about having sex with your car

Back in January whimsical academic Robert Yang brought us Succulent, a game about a man fellating a popsicle. Now, the developer behind that homoerotic sexy time has brought us Stick Shift, a "short autoerotic night-driving game about bringing your car to climax." Yes, you play as a man having sex with his car. Yet, like Yang's Succulent and Hurt me Plenty before it, Stick Shift has a political message, which the developer explained in a recent blog post. Subscribers to the £35-a-year catalogue have reported a number of general issues, including lag and low frame rates. But a couple of games also feature more specific problems. Mario Kart 64, for example, displays a warning that the game will not let you save Ghost Data - as this feature required an N64 Controller Pak in the original game. [Read More]

That sure does sound like Ramsay Bolton in Total War: Warhammer 2

Total War: Warhammer 2 is getting a new character voiced by Iwan Rheon, the actor who played Ramsay Bolton in HBO's Game of Thrones. In a video tease, below, for the strategy game's next free Legendary Lord - the Dark Elf beastmaster Rakarth of Karond Kar - we hear Rheon's voice acting. He's doing a great Ramsay Bolton impression! And I love the "flay them alive" line. Ramsay was always fond of flaying victims alive, after all. [Read More]
