Now added to the ever-growing list are Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Sonic Unleashed, and Aliens vs Predator. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is certainly an interesting place to start, given its colourful history. The fantasy action-adventure RPG was developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games, designed by Elder Scrolls veteran Ken Rolston, and released by EA in 2012. [Read More]

Need for Speed: Rivals review

Ghost Games' first Need for Speed takes the very best of Criterion in this excellent package. Grab a Ferrari 458 Italia and hit up Need for Speed: Rivals' Redview County and you can find yourself in a pretty decent approximation of what a contemporary, open-world OutRun would look like. You'll see traces of AM2's magic in the languid powerslides that send sweet white smoke pluming from wheel arches, and in the long drives that take you through sinewy roads darkened by the thick canopy of pines, on to snaking snowy mountain passes, and climaxing in full-throated blasts through wide, parched desert. Ark: Survival Evolved is free on the Epic Games Store this week

Developer Wildcard's perennially popular dinosaur-themed survival game Ark: Survival Evolved is the latest freebie to grace the Epic Games Store. Ark: Survival Evolved first reared its head in 2015 as a Steam Early Access title, eventually making its way to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch - albeit in the form of a barely functional smear in the latter case. Yet despite its age, Ark has still rides high up Steam's list of concurrent players, all drawn to its compelling, if shamelessly time-gobbling mix of prehistorically themed homemaking and bloodthirsty PvP. Chernobylite Review - a haunting and atmospheric Stalk-'em-up

Slight repetition can't diminish the incredible atmosphere of Farm 51's post-apocalyptic survival game. Chernobylite may look like it's a cheeki breeki away from being a full-on S.T.A.L.K.E.R tribute act, but The Farm 51's shooter isn't quite a retread of irradiated ground. While aesthetically the two games are interchangeable, sharing core stylistic motifs like mutants, anomalies, oppressive weather, and a certain nuclear power plant that had a bit of a mishap in April 1986, structurally they've mutated in quite different ways.
