Page 1 of 2 Next page Cars, as a rule, don't hop up and down. It's not very good for them or the people inside them. Given the option though, we obviously would put springs on the bottom of ours, so when we stumbled into Banjo-Kazooie's Jiggoseum for the umpteenth time and were asked to join a three-lap checkpoint race of the arena, we were pleased to discover there would be hurdles.

Mount Your Friends - the cult indie hit featuring raucous, physics-based tower building and aggressively pendulous genitals - is making the leap from 2D to 3D on February 23rd, developer Stegersaurus has revealed.
The original Mount Your Friends invited players to clamber up their fellow scantily clad bodybuilder pals to reach as high as they could - sometimes solo, often with friends, and always on the back of a goat. Unifying the whole homoerotic extravaganza was a wilfully awkward control scheme in which climbers were forced to clumsily drag themselves upward one appendage at a time.

Deus Ex's mix of shooting and stealth continues to flourish under Eidos Montreal, though the story isn't a match for the setting. Adam Jensen - my own, custom-upgraded version of Adam Jensen, at least - is a man who can launch exploding katanas from his wrists, sweat bulletproof gel and disarm laser tripwires with a Jedi Masterly wave of the hand. In the course of 35 hours of play and a couple dozen Praxis point upgrades, I have used the character's cyborg arsenal to obliterate cops in exosuits, sweet-talk rabid cult leaders, glide unseen through gangster safehouses and shoot EMP grenades out of the air in slow motion.

Forager, developer HopFrog's adorable - if fearsomely compulsive - open-world scavenging oddity, has finally updated its PlayStation 4 and Switch releases to add all the post-launch content that's made its way to PC over the last year.
Since its launch last April, Forager on PC has continued to enhance its core gameplay loop of ceaseless exploratory resource gathering and expansion (which throws in a smattering of dungeon crawling and puzzling for good measure) with a heap of post-launch updates, ranging from new biomes and game modes to better combat and boss fights.

Cave Story creator Daisuke Amaya returns with another pixel-perfect time warp, and the old-school values are more than just skin deep. Price and availability Windows PC from Playism: $7.99 iOS: £2.99 Daisuke Amaya's work provides a fierce rebuttal to the accusation that 'they don't make 'em like they used to'. While most indie game-makers are content to appropriate the style of 80s video games as a celebratory, nostalgic wrapping for contemporary ideas, Amaya's games have a deeper sort of period authenticity.
