Amnesia, SOMA developer teases next mysterious game in newly unearthed video

Frictional Games, the developer behind critically acclaimed horror titles Penumbra, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and SOMA, has offered a tease of its next title, by way of an enigmatic new video discovered as part of an ongoing ARG. The initial breadcrumb trail began over on NextFrictionalGame.com, a website the developer has used to tease all of its upcoming titles in the past, from The Dark Descent to now. Astute fans initially noticed the site had been updated with the graphic of what appeared to be a pulsating foetus, and a bit of poking soon revealed a short, rather unremarkable video clip of rocks, purporting to be footage from Shetpe, a real village in Kazakhstan. Civilization IV: Beyond The Sword

Page 1 of 2 Next page Bad news - they didn't bring back Leonard Nimoy. The highlight of Civ IV, was of course, the befuddled-sounding Mr Spock solemnly intoning "BEEP. BEEP. BEEP" upon the discovery of satellites, or confusedly quoting Velvet Underground lyrics when rock'n'roll was created. While Beyond the Sword is an excellent expansion pack in all other ways, that a few more shillings could not be raised to have the poor soul record new lines deserves a mournful moment of silence. Divinity: Original Sin 2 review

A CRPG of unparalleled breadth and dynamism, Original Sin 2 is Larian's masterpiece.About halfway through Original Sin 2's campaign, you acquire the ability to talk to ghosts. Cast "Spirit Vision" in any given area of its massive, detailed world, and any nearby souls waiting in the queue to the afterlife will be revealed to you, their transparent outline glowing with a greenish hue. In other games, this would be a neat gimmick useful in a few specific circumstances. [Read More]

Now you can unlock Bayek in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Origins hero Bayek is now unlockable in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Just like with Odyssey's other legacy character - Syndicate's Evie Fry - you can nab Orange's Bayek via the Ubisoft Club app. He'll then appear as a legendary lieutenant for you to recruit, have serve on your ship and call upon in battle. In previous games you've always been able to wear the costumes of other Assassins from the series - but with the arrival of Odyssey's RPG mechanics and gear sets, this has become harder to implement. The curse of Space Station 13

It looks like a game from a bygone era. The 2D graphics are basic in the extreme. There are no animations to speak of. The viewpoint is top-down and staying that way. Its user interface rekindles memories of Windows 95. It is fiddly, abstruse and hugely complex. It is a slow burn of a video game, often demanding hours of intense concentration, planning and execution to succeed. And yet for some, Space Station 13, a community-created open source project coming up on its 15th birthday, is the greatest multiplayer role-playing video game ever made. [Read More]
