This Valheim mod lets you build some really big boats

Have you ever felt like going on a big cruise ship around the mythical world of Valheim? Thanks to the power of modding, now you can, so get ready for some very large vessels. ValheimRAFT is a mod by Sarcen that allows players to construct their own ships rather than simply use the pre-made ones available in vanilla Valheim. (If the name didn't give it away, it's inspired by the game Raft, a survival game in which you construct a boat from bits of debris. [Read More]

Total War Warhammer 3's campaign is glorious chaos

Barely an hour into a good six-hour preview of Total War: Warhammer 3's campaign, and I have been royally gazumped. I'm playing as Grand Cathay, one of the eight new factions playable in the game - and yes, there are eight; Creative Assembly announced a final surprise faction, Chaos Daemons, during our previous session, which look like frightfully silly fun themselves. Total War: Warhammer 3 preview Publisher: Sega Developer: Creative Assembly, Feral Interactive Availability: Out February 17th on PC, Mac, Linux Anyway, I am Grand Cathay, where you choose one of two legendary lords as your main character. Vampyr review - a beautiful premise wasted in this bland action RPG

Dontnod takes a thrillingly Gothic perspective on early 20th century London, but squanders it in a dreary and indecisive adventure. Great Gothic horror is all about colour, or lack thereof. The black of night, the white of bone, the monochrome of a gloomy cobblestoned street illuminated dimly by a single paraffin lamp. When colour is used, it's to highlight scenes of the macabre and the morbid so beloved by penny dreadfuls - the yellowing of a lonely mouldering corpse, the fetid green bile of a plague victim, or a single bright glob of crimson gore. Blizzard is creating a "brand-new survival game" set in a "whole new universe"

Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and Diablo developer Blizzard Entertainment has revealed it's working on a "brand-new survival game" set in a "whole new universe". The news comes as Activision Blizzard continues to reel from the shocking allegations it fostered a company culture where sexual harassment, assault, and inappropriate behaviour were able to thrive, with Blizzard Entertainment itself being called a "breeding ground for harassment and discrimination against women" in a State of California lawsuit filed last year. Cuphead on Switch is a stunning conversion

Previously a console exclusive for Xbox One, Studio MDHR's Cuphead is now available on Switch and speaking as a big fan of the game, I highly recommend it! In fact, the port to Nintendo's hybrid is nigh-on flawless - indistinguishable from Xbox on a living room display and with the added bonus of portable play that holds up beautifully for gaming on the go. Put simply, it's a lovingly crafted, zero compromise port that exceeds expectations. [Read More]

Death's Door, Windjammers 2 also headed to Xbox Game Pass

Yet more games have been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass, in what may well be one of the subscription's best months ever. Microsoft is yet to issue its customary blog post detailing this latest crop, but an image showing the selection is already live on Xbox.com. The brilliant Death's Door, released to critical acclaim last summer, headlines this latest round of additions. Eurogamer deemed the Zelda-like an "Essential" in our Death's Door review. [Read More]

Devil May Cry 5 review - an unashamedly old school return for an action legend

Capcom returns to its trusted formula for something that plays like a outrageously pretty PS2 game - and that's a very good thing. Style is everything, and Devil May Cry 5 has it in spades. It's in the blithe way rakish new character V holds a book of poetry and reads from it in the middle of battle. It's in the adolescent aggression that flows through the attacks of Nero, the character who was front and centre in the last numbered entry finally coming into his own here. [Read More]

Earth Defense Force 2025 review

It started with my Ranger holding an assault rifle and running towards the red dots on the radar. The graphics were a soupçon of PlayStation 2 mixed with a smidgen of grey texture updates. The loading times had been ludicrous. The terrible voiceover was touting the arrival of some GIANT INSECTS. GIANT INSECTS were swarming the city, GIANT INSECTS that haven't been seen in over SEVEN YEARS. GIANT INSECTS were last seen here SEVEN YEARS ago. [Read More]

Fallout Shelter - Quests, Combat Tips, Daily Quests and rewards explained

Fallout Shelter is well and truly established on PC now. Arriving back in 2016 it brought with it the all-important update in patch 1.6. The game's Quest system, and everything it brought, is undoubtedly the standout feature, with you now able to leave the Vault and explore Wasteland locations yourself for the first time. Fallout Shelter Trailer - Fallout Shelter at E3 2015 It brings Fallout Shelter players a much-needed impetus to continue - I've often found myself wondering why I'm still here since reaching an early-game resource equilibrium - and as such we'll be taking you through everything new in the latest version. Fortnite fans can't believe a lazily-reskinned Battle Pass pet is on sale

UPDATE 9pm: Epic has U-turned on its sale of the Gunner pet dog, a near-identical version of an item previously included in a Battle Pass. In the past hour, the pet has been removed from Fortnite's in-game store. In a statement issued this evening to Eurogamer Epic admitted it "should not have released" the dog and was sorry for having done so. Many fans felt it crossed a red line around the reissuing of exclusive Battle Pass content, which Epic promises never to sell separately. [Read More]
