Like the female version unveiled in spectacular fashion at last year's Blizzcon event, he's a weapon-based ranged character cut from dark, mysterious cloth. EA reportedly under criminal investigation in Belgium due to FIFA's loot boxes

The Belgian government, which declared loot boxes to be a form of gambling earlier this year, has reportedly launched a criminal investigation into EA after the publisher refused to modify FIFA's randomised card pack loot boxes in order to comply with the country's gambling laws. Back in April, Belgium's Gaming Commission determined that loot boxes found in FIFA 18, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive were an "illegal game of chance", and thus subject to Belgian gambling laws. Little Libraries: Firewatch built a community one cache at a time

At the moment I live on the border of two councils, which means I have two sets of library systems and two library cards. Both library systems are a delight. The Jubilee Library in Brighton is a vast airy place with three light wells in the roof and an upper floor that seems to almost float, unattached to the nearby walls. Then there's the library on the Lewes side - not Lewes itself because it's a bit of a slog, but just ten minutes away on the bus. [Read More]

PlayStation Classic teardown: what's inside Sony's new micro-console?

What hardware is inside the PlayStation Classic and what it makes it tick? It's something we've been fascinated about since the project was announced. Initially, we wondered whether Sony might have returned to its PlayStation Vita SoC - a proven performer for original PlayStation emulation. However, the platform holder has opted for an ARM SoC set-up - and one that's a good chunk more powerful than the internals of the NES and Super NES mini consoles. [Read More]

Download the patch and you'll get access to two slightly bizarre skins for your Dark Knight: the Zur En Arrh Batman, and the Anime Batman. Both of these were previously unlockable if you fiddled around with WBplay, an online account service set up by publisher Warner Bros. which has now gone the way of the dodo. [Read More]

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild review

Switch's debut and Wii U's demise are marked by a radical reinvention of The Legend of Zelda that will go down as an all-time great. Here's an unusual admission for a reviewer to make. I haven't finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I've yet to uncover swathes of its vast map. Much remains for me to do and discover, and my game is still rife with rumour, mystery and surprise. [Read More]

Twisted Metal TV adaptation casts Anthony Mackie as John Doe

Anthony Mackie is reportedly set to star as Jon Doe in the upcoming live-action TV adaptation of Sony's brash vehicular combat series Twisted Metal.
