Company makes real-life Fortnite - in Leicestershire

Fortnite is one of those rare games which somehow seems to leak beyond the digital into real life. Only the other day, when I was out walking the dog, I came across teens teaching their parents Fortnite dances in the middle of a field. Now, it seems a lot more people will be flossing in the countryside, as one company has created an outdoor laser tag version of the game. [Read More]

DF Retro: Killzone 2 ten years on - a PS3 showcase that still looks stunning today

The road to Killzone 2 was almost certainly a difficult one fraught with unrealistic expectations defined by its infamous E3 2005 pre-rendered trailer - but despite the odds, developer Guerrilla Games managed to produce one of the most visually striking games of the generation. Even today, Killzone 2 stands head and shoulders above most games released for PlayStation 3 in terms of both technical ambition and artistic vision. Revisit the game yourself and see what I mean - it still looks stunning. [Read More]

'Tis the season to be spooky, and Rainbow Six Siege is getting into the spirit of things tomorrow, 12th October, with the return of its Doktor's Curse limited-time Halloween event. Doktor's Curse first emerged as a seasonal treat for Rainbow Six Siege players back in Year 4, but its 5v5 hide-and-seek-style Monster Hunt mode - set across a suitably sinister Frankenstein-themed version of the Theme Park map - has, according to Ubisoft, seen a few tweaks for 2021. Just as today's market is flooded with brown first-person shooters, so the console gaming landscape of the late 90s was dominated by anthropomorphic double-jumping heroes, smashing crates and navigating primary-coloured jungles in the hope of joining Mario and Sonic at the top table.
