Hades is the very first video game to ever win a Hugo award, an annual literary award for the best science fiction or fantasy works of the year.
Though there's currently no best video game category, as per the World Science Fiction Convention, a one-off category was created for this year, and a permanent award is under consideration.
Hades beat off competition from The Last of Us 2, Spiritfarer, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Blaseball.

A new Ghost Recon game is reportedly in the works, following news that Ghost Recon Breakpoint has received its final update. As reported by Kotaku, the next game in the series is codenamed OVER and was originally leaked by Nvidia. Kotaku sources claim it has already been in development for over a year and could be released in fiscal year 2023. Also reported is that free-to-play live-service shooter Ghost Recon Frontline is undergoing a reset following negative feedback from an internal playtest this year.

Michael Hollick, the voice actor who portrayed Niko Bellic in Grand Theft Auto IV, has had a pop at his union for failing to protect voice acting talent in games - or getting him more money, reports GamesIndustry.biz.
According to a New York Times article, Hollick was paid roughly USD 100,000 over 15 months for his voice acting and motion-capture work on GTA IV. He takes issue with the fact that he will not receive royalties or residuals as he would for work on television programmes, films, radio shows or albums.

The one thing everyone remembers about P.N.03 is that it was the first game in the Capcom Five, the publisher's proposal to prop up the then-ailing GameCube with a set of third-party exclusives. Though the games turned out quite nicely, the plan wasn't exactly a roaring success: Dead Phoenix was canned, while Resident Evil 4, Killer7 and Viewtiful Joe were ported to PlayStation 2. UPDATE 22/4/22: Activision Blizzard will add another two women as board members, Axios has reported. The move will double the number of women on Activision's board to four. Eight men are currently board members, though two are due to stand down this year.
Lulu Cheng Meservey, currently an exec at newsletter firm Substack, will join the Activision Board immediately. Kerry Carr, currently at Bacardi and previously at Disney, is expected to join later in 2022.
