No Man's Sky's latest Expedition is a great re-introduction to five years of updates

Do you, like me, find yourself firing up No Man's Sky with giddy enthusiasm with every new update, eager to sample Hello Games' latest delights, only to become immediately overwhelmed, prod a few things hesitantly, then turn it off half an hour later clouded in an air of bewilderment? Then allow me to introduce you to No Man's Sky's latest Expedition: Cartographers. Expeditions, in case you're out of the loop (or, equally likely, at the other end of the loop, still trying to figure out everything that got released in-between), are effectively No Man's Sky's stab at live-service-style seasonal content. No Man's Sky's sandworms are getting a terrifying makeover, just in time for Dune

This week sees the long-awaited arrival of Denis Villeneuve's Dune in UK cinemas, and, not to be outdone, No Man's Sky is getting in on the big, wormy sci-fi action too, giving its burrowing space sausages a terrifying makeover as part of its latest update. This newest addition to Hello Games' ever-expanding exploratory space sim is described by the developer as an 'accidental' Halloween update, and primarily takes the form of a brand-new limited-time Expedition event, titled Emergence - the first to feature narrative elements. Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB vs 4GB review

We have unfinished business with Nvidia's GTX 960. On launch, we lauded its power efficiency, overclocking and cutting-edge media acceleration but we had two issues: firstly, there was no clear win over the competition in terms of performance, and secondly, it was a 2GB card in a world where console-level visuals were starting to demand a 3GB minimum. However, in line with its AMD counterpart - the R9 380 - 4GB variants are now available, and we've finally acquired one. [Read More]

Pokémon Go Castform forms explained

Collecting all Pokémon Go Castform forms is another goal to aim for when you've eventually completed your Gen 3 Pokédex. Like Unown in Pokémon Go, there are multiple types (known as forms) of the same creature to find out in the wild. However, unlike Unown, there are only a handful to track down, and they aren't dependent on an event or sheer luck, but the weather. How many Pokémon Go Castform forms are there? [Read More]

Shadow Warrior 3 gets March release date

Having been punted clear of its original 2021 launch window last October, Shadow Warrior 3 finally has a release day, with developer Flying Wild Hog now confirming it'll be whipping its Wang out on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC from 1st March. This third entry in the delightfully gaudy rebooted FPS series - inspired by 3D Realms' 1997 shooter Shadow Warrior - once again focuses on the adventures of protagonist Lo Wang, this time on a quest to recapture an ancient dragon unleashed from its eternal prison. There's a new Five Nights at Freddy's masquerading as a pizzeria sim

Five Nights at Freddy's developer Scott Cawthon has released a new game, named Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. On the surface, it's a retro-themed tycoon game where you run your own pizza restaurant. But, as players have discovered, it's actually something more sinister. Yes, just five months after placing the FNAF franchise on hold and cancelling FNAF 6, it sounds like Cawthon has brought back the hugely-popular YouTube-baiting jump scare horror franchise. Undertale creator working on Deltarune Chapters 3 to 5

Deltarune's third, fourth and fifth chapters will all arrive at the same time, creator Toby Fox has said. The second chapter of Undertale follow-up Deltarune arrived last week, following a three-year wait from the first. It also arrived for free - contrary to Fox's previous plans. In a new blog post on Deltarune's development, Fox said his "next goal" was to complete Chapters 3, 4, and 5, then ask people to purchase the game at a price that was fair for the first five chapters. Amazon's Echo gadget has a Mass Effect Easter egg

There's a Mass Effect Easter egg hidden away in the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot. For the uninitiated, the Amazon Echo is a range of Siri-like AI gadgets that the retail giant wants you to place in and around your home. They feed Amazon information on your shopping habits, but in return can be used to quickly order shopping, play music, check the weather and, it seems, pay homage to BioWare's space opera trilogy.
