Surprise! Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy 13 just got a surprise patch five years after the game came out on PC. Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds review

Frozen Wilds' wintry wasteland looks awe-inspiring, but its story breeds the same disappointment as a melted snowman on Christmas morning. There's a nostalgic euphoria I associate with the sound of crunching snow. It reminds me of childhood winters wrapped up in scratchy scarves and impractical mittens, trudging through Irish fields, white as the eye could see and making that first welly-boot footprint in an untouched blanket of glistening snow. Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Developer: Guerrilla Games Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment Platform: Reviewed on PS4 Availability: Out November 7th on PS4 It's a difficult feeling to recapture but Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds manages it beautifully with scenes straight out of a winter wonderland. The infamous Honorbuddy bot plaguing World of Warcraft appears to have been beaten. On the Honorbuddy forum, however, there's a post by staff member Bossland that reads like an admission of defeat. [Read More]

Minecraft Dungeons review: a Diablo-like that's just deep enough

You can build anything in Minecraft, something this fun dungeon-crawler from Mojang ably proves. Minecraft is famous for its Creative mode - the option which gives an endless supply of digital Lego for you to play around with. It's the place people build replicas of their universities or the Sistine Chapel or that big tower from Lord of the Rings. But for me, Minecraft has always been about its Survival offering. Steins;Gate Elite review - a must-have for fans, a maybe for everyone else

5pb's 2009 visual novel gets a sizeable makeover - but don't expect it to make new fans for the genre. When is a video game not a video game? It's not that I'm just feeling a little existential today. Honest. It's a question that popped up in my head just a few hours into my inaugural journey with Steins;Gate Elite and it's refused to dissipate since.
