The Wind Waker's missing dungeons were reused in other Zelda games

The mystery of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's missing dungeons can now be solved - almost. It's been known for years that more than one dungeon was cut from the GameCube game, giving its latter half some rather awkward pacing. With the HD Wii U version due for release in October this year, it's natural to wonder: will they be reinstated? I asked Eiji Aonuma - the producer who oversees the Zelda series at Nintendo - this question when I met him yesterday in a quiet suite on Nintendo's E3 stand. [Read More]

This dataminer has uncovered a deleted NPC quest in Elden Ring

Prolific dataminer Lance McDonald has discovered a deleted NPC questline in Elden Ring. According to McDonald, if you visited Stormhill Shack - which had previously been known as Scavenger's Shack and is today the location where you'll meet Roderika - during the network test, it was empty. Before that test, however, it looks like it was the home to an unknown NPC called Monk Jigo. As spotted by PC Gamer, Jigo had been " [Read More]

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Atlas travel: How to get to England, return to Norway and travel to other regions explained

The Atlas in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla allows you to travel between different regions of the game - something which comes in useful when you arrive in England early in the story. Though getting to England is a monumental step for our cast of characters, for the players themselves it doesn't have to be - with the Atlas allowing you to return to Norway whenever you feel like it. This is useful if you want to tick off any side-quests or explore any locations you missed in the early game - and since there are some high-game areas in Norway you cannot access yet, it's important to know for the end game, too. Divinity Original Sin 2 is getting a revamped Arena Mode for turn-based battling

Developer Larian has announced that its majestic RPG Divinity Original Sin 2 will include a revamped Arena Mode when it comes to Xbox One and PS4 in its thoroughly reworked Definitive Edition guise at the end of August. Arena mode, as you might imagine, ditches the narrative of the core game to concentrate on letting players run around and bop things (and each other) on the head via the splendours of turn-based combat. Elden Ring will feature poison swamps because Miyazaki loves making them

Hidetaka Miyazaki loves poison swamps, even if you don't. The Souls games are notorious for including dark, dank swamp areas filled with toxic enemies: the nightmarish Valley of Defilement in Demon's Souls, or the endless depths of Blighttown in Dark Souls. Elden Ring is set to also include poison areas, of course. That's because Miyazaki loves them - he just can't help himself. "In terms of how the player feels when they encounter this area that is a different story," [Read More]

Face-Off: Batman: Return to Arkham

At the very least, the Batman: Return to Arkham remasters are an interesting technical exercise, bringing the newer features of Unreal Engine 4 to two older classics - Arkham Asylum and its sequel Arkham City. Each were originally built on a modified Unreal Engine 3, but developer Virtuos (best known for the Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD remaster) chooses to revamp its character models, overhaul its lighting, and add higher resolution effects across both.
