The developers of the upcoming Dune real-time strategy game say they went for a "cartoonish" art style so looking at a desert planet for hours on end isn't boring.
Dune: Spice Wars is in development at Northgard maker Shiro Games, and is set on Arrakis - Dune's famous harsh desert planet. The teaser trailer is below:
Arrakis is a whole lot of sand and not much else, which, Shiro Games said, presents a whole set of problems when it comes to making a video game set upon it.

A new PC mod for the original Final Fantasy 7 bumps up the frame rate to 60fps.
As beloved as the original is, the frame rate is pretty shaky - often dropping to around 15fps during battle sequences.
Now though, thanks to the FFNx modding project, the game has never looked better with a silky smooth frame rate throughout.
The mod is currently in beta but available to download and use, and it will work in conjunction with other mods.

Devil May Cry 5 looks like a game packed with outlandish weapons (including a motorbike Dante rips in half). Over the weekend Capcom revealed another weapon fans of the action game series did not expect.
During a panel at New York Comic-Con, Capcom revealed gameplay of the Faust hat, which Dante uses as a weapon in Devil May Cry 5.
Faust was a demon who appeared in Devil May Cry 4, notable because of the hat it wore.

The Xbox 360 version of sandbox smash-hit Minecraft will be released in physical form for the first time on 28th June, Microsoft has announced.
Boxed copies will come with a free 48-hour subscription to Xbox Live Gold, but will otherwise be exactly the same game as their downloadable brothers.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been a phenomenal success since it launched on Xbox Live Arcade last year. It shifted more than five million copies in eight months - many more than the PC original in the same timeframe, and is to date the best-selling Xbox Live Arcade game ever.
