Destiny 2 DLC Curse of Osiris guide and walkthrough: Everything added in the Mercury-set expansion

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC is the first major expansion to Bungie's space-faring sequel. Curse of Osiris introduces a variety of new modes and places to explore, and while understandably not as meaty as larger yearly updates such as The Taken King and Rise of Iron, it does feel to offer more variety than the smaller expansions offered in Destiny's first year. What's included in Destiny 2 expansion Curse of Osiris? [Read More]

Disney shuts down Club Penguin clones after kids exposed to explicit messages

Before it closed in 2017, Club Penguin - the official one - was a popular hangout for teens and young kids on the internet, providing a safe place to play and chat with over 200m other players at its peak. Since then, several clones have popped up over the internet using copied source code, including the popular Club Penguin Online. But while it may have provided some with a nostalgia hit, it has now been shut down by Disney due to lack of moderation, and one man involved with the site arrested on suspicion of possessing child abuse images. Horizon Zero Dawn review | Eurogamer.net

Guerrilla Games goes open world in this sumptuous, enjoyable yet overly generic new age sci-fi RPG. You'd be forgiven for going into this one expecting something a little different. For developer Guerrilla Games, at least, Horizon Zero Dawn sees a remarkable change in both pace and tone, a well-earned break from over ten years of stoic service on the gritty battlefields of Killzone and a step away from the crushed concrete and exposed steel mesh of Helghan towards something brighter, breezier, more open. Legendary wonky bus driving sim Desert Bus is now available in VR

Legendary novelty game Desert Bus - in which you're tasked with driving a slightly defective bus for eight straight hours across the mind-numbingly monotonous expanse between Arizona and Nevada - has come to Oculus Rift and Vive as Desert Bus VR. Desert Bus has a long and fascinating history, having originally been created in the mid-90s by magicians Penn and Teller as part of an unreleased compilation of mini-games, known as Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors. Little Nightmares for the PC is free for a limited time

Those who enjoy PC gaming, a macabre take on storybook narratives and platforming puzzles interspersed with stealth should take note: Bandai Namco are giving away free Steam codes for Little Nightmares right now (though they haven't made it clear for how long). A heads up on the details though: you will have to make an account on the Bandai Namco online store, which was a little trickier for us than it seemed. [Read More]

The challenge of From Software games is part of the studio's "identity", says Hidetaka Miyazaki

Elden Ring's Hidetaka Miyazaki has said that the challenge of From Software's game is "not something [the studio is] willing to abandon", even though he himself "dies a lot" in games. "We are always looking to improve, but, in our games specifically, hardship is what gives meaning to the experience," Miyazaki told the New Yorker. "So it's not something we're willing to abandon at the moment. It's our identity." That said, he understands that some may find " [Read More]

The hidden echoes of Resident Evil 7's remixed house

Editor's note: Heterotopias is a new zine that looks at the intersections between video games and architecture, and I'm delighted to welcome its editor Gareth Damian Martin to Eurogamer for the first of a series of regular articles exploring the same territory. You can pick up the latest issue of the zine over here, and I strongly recommend you do so as it's a rather lovely thing. Have you ever thought about how one house becomes another? [Read More]
