Niantic Wayfarer is a new tool developed by Niantic, which will allow you to nominate and review PokéStops in Pokémon Go, and points of interest in other games such as Ingress Prime.
Previously, if you wanted to nominate a PokéStop, you either had to be a Level 10 Ingress player or meet the criteria, and be in an eligible country, for the PokéStop nomination beta.
Niantic Wayfarer will be especially useful for all the Pokémon trainers who live in rural areas, which lack a good number of gyms and Pokéstops.

Resident Evil Village will get free DLC, Capcom has said.
Confirmation comes from a company report, which adds Monster Hunter Rise is also set for free DLC.
Here's the relevant blurb (warning: this is a business-focused document, so the language is pretty corporate):
"Further, we will drive our customer management to understand the playing trends and preferences of users while also building a business model for online operations, taking into account the situation of our free additional DLC for titles such as Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village.

There's a new Hitman game out and, naturally, a retro gamer's mind turns to thoughts of previous sneaky stealth experiences. Metal Gear Solid, perhaps, the game that made hiding in cardboard boxes an acceptable activity for tactical espionage agents? Thief, the immersive olden days creep-and-cram burglary sim in which environmental awareness was as important as speedy reactions? Maybe even Spy vs Spy, that old school multiplayer game in which you laid traps to ensnare your rival?

In these cynical times, a mates-down-the-pub quickie explanation of Shadow of Rome arguably fails to excite. Blending hackandslash, stealth and the Roman coliseum, it sounds like a marketing concept borne out of someone's love for Solid Snake and Russell Crowe. Cynicism? Et tu, Capcom? In practice though, while it certainly draws inspiration from a number of well-known franchises both cinematic and electronic, it's hard not to enjoy the execution of these familiar elements when they're handled with this much gusto.

Luigi being hidden somewhere in Super Mario 64 has long been an urban legend. It was something I remember hearing about at school, reading on old forums. If only you did this, I was told, Mario's missing brother might finally appear. Well, it's been 25 years, but Luigi has finally been found. Not within the inner workings of any Mario 64 copy you might own, mind, but in the source code of the game uncovered as part of this weekend's so-called "

Developer RageSquid's extreme downhill biking game Descenders is now available on Xbox Series X/S, bringing with it a free next-gen enhancements update for all Xbox One owners that introduces a 120fps mode, PC cross-play, and more.
Descenders, if you're unfamiliar, serves up an exhilarating freeriding experience as players - either solo or competitively - race, trick, and flip their way across a procedurally generated world. It was warmly received at launch, but really made its mark - and found a significant audience - once it released on Xbox Game Pass.

"Better with Kinect". As a slogan, it's perfect. So pro-active! So on message! As an actual promise? Microsoft has yet to demonstrate how the addition of its hugely successful yet much maligned motion controller has improved any of the games that have incorporated it. Compatible with Kinect? Sure. Playable with Kinect? Sometimes. But better with Kinect? That's a really short list.
Despite wearing the purple stripe on the front cover, Angry Birds Trilogy won't be joining that list.

Asmosdee's digital board game, Pandemic, has been quietly withdrawn from sale "for a multitude of reasons that [the publisher] cannot disclose".
Without formal announcement, Pandemic was delisted from Steam on 6th January, and it looks as though players can't pick it up on mobile devices now, either (although if you already own the game, you should be able to re-download it again from your library if you're quick). All signs of the game have been scrubbed from the company's website, too.

Last week, Fortnite fans noticed police cars could no longer be found on the game's map.
The change, reported on at the time by Kotaku, appeared to have been made at the same time as Fortnite's new season.
Fans on reddit noticed police cars dotted around the Battle Royale map were now civilian vehicles. Police cars in the game's Creative Mode were gone. Junk Rifts, an item which could spawn a police car, now spawned regular cars instead.
