Gran Turismo Sport review | Eurogamer.net

Gran Turismo Sport loses the breadth that's defined the series, but introduces something just as valuable in its place. Something had to give. After Gran Turismo 6, a wild, vast and maddeningly uneven game that whisked players from West Sussex to the moon and back in its eccentric hymn to the automobile, developer Polyphony Digital had to try a different tack. The result, a typically belated debut on Sony hardware from a studio renowned and often reviled for taking its sweet time over things, will likely prove as divisive as any Gran Turismo before it. Konami's eFootball has officially-licensed MLS players

Konami has signed a deal with the Major League Soccer Players Association to grant rights to use all their players in upcoming football game eFootball. It's a slightly odd announcement, given it mentions the players only, as opposed to having the league also officially licensed. Perhaps this means the MLS players will be free agents in the game. The trailer, below, shows LA Galaxy's Jonathan Dos Santos expressing his delight at the news. [Read More]

Quake Arena Arcade | Eurogamer.net

Page 1 of 2 Next page Quake III Arena, from which this Xbox Live Arcade port is derived, popularised many of the conventions and much of the terminology of the contemporary first-person shooter: everything from brown corridors to the term 'deathmatch'. And yet, sitting down with id Software's shooter concentrate 11 years after its debut, it's curious just how different a multiplayer experience it offers to its descendants. [Read More]

Razer Zephyr review: relic of a dark future

Debuting as 'Project Hazel' at the CES trade show earlier this year, Razer's wearable air purifier and face mask is now a genuine product called the Zephyr that retails for £99. The idea here is to provide a constant supply of air in and out, purified to an N95 standard to help prevent the spread of viruses, while also providing a distinct look complete with RGB lighting. Razer very kindly sent me one of the few units earmarked for the UK press ahead of its full reveal as part of RazerCon 2021, and so I've been testing it for the past few days to see whether it really lives up to the hype. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a beautiful tech showcase

Spanning more than two decades and produced by a succession of talented developers, the Tomb Raider series almost serves as a barometer of progress in the space of 3D gaming. Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues this tradition, presenting not just an evolution in technology - but subtle a shift in gameplay focus too for the rebooted series. [Read More]

The Witcher 3 - Jenny o' the Woods: how to kill the nightwraith

Page 1 of 3 Next page To start this Contract, you'll first of all need to head over to the noticeboard located in Midcospe and have a mooch through all of the notes posted to the board. The ealdorman of Midcopse, Bolko, is having some trouble with a creature threatening the local fields. No-one can work there on their own while the threat's at large, and certainly not without a solid piece of farm equipment in there hands in case the enemy shows up. [Read More]

Page 1 of 3 Next page The first order of business with this next Contract is to make your way over to the noticeboard in Beanston and actually pick the thing up. Grab the note from the board and you'll discover that no small amount of woe has fallen upon the Honeyfill apiary. A mysterious presence has invaded the area, obliterating the bee hives and basically making a nasty mess of the place. [Read More]

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon review | Eurogamer.net

Given how fertile the Warhammer 40,000 universe is when it comes to epic warfare, its crop of turn-based video games has been stupefyingly infrequent. Yes, Dawn Of War looked the part and was an immensely enjoyable take on capture-and-hold real-time strategy, but for all its bombastic violence and blister pack expansioneering, it was about as authentic a mirror of the tabletop wargame as its first-person shooter stablemate, Space Marine. Remarkably, if you want to go back to when the last proper 40k wargame appeared on PC, you'd need to set your time machine for last century. [Read More]
