Amazon Prime Day PS4 deals 2022: Here's what we expect to see

Amazon Prime Day 2022 is making its annual comeback on 12th and 13th July 2022, which means discounts on PS4 games, accessories and more are all coming our way. Once the event is underway, we'll be regularly updating this page with all the best Prime Day PS4 deals. Until then, we've put some of the better PS4 deals available to buy right now below.

With the PlayStation 5 in its early years, new PS4 consoles are now a rarity as most retailers have already shifted their stock by now. However, PS4 games are still being made and are easy to find, so if you're still trying to get a PS5 console or the lucky owner of one, the last-gen games will work perfectly fine. And although the PS5 doesn't come with the simplified 'smart delivery' system like Xbox downloads, some publishers like Ubisoft offer free upgrades of their PS4 games on PS5 consoles, so you'll be able to take advantage of higher resolutions and framerates.

With PS5 (and all other tech) supply issues being something we've all had to experience in the past couple of years, it's still worth making the most out of your PS4 console. Although Sony extended the lifespan of the console with more orders, you probably won't be able to find a new PS4 console directly from Amazon. You will, however, be able to find an abudance of cross-gen games that will work fine when you eventually get your hands on a PS5.

We may be lucky and see some deeper discounts on DualShock 4 controllers this Prime Day. Some colour variants are already on sale at Amazon UK, like the Glacier White version for £44.99 (was £54.99) and the Midnight Blue version for £49.99.

Prime Day PS Plus deals

As you may be aware, Sony is currently revamping its PS Plus offering by splitting it into three tiers, and combining elements of its discontinued Now service. Although retailers were sellers of PS Plus codes, they've yet to surface as the rollout continues to take place globally. We'll be sure to add Amazon's offerings here should they once again sell subscription codes and cards.

With PS4 console production still in progress, it should also be the case that PS4 accessories, including controllers, are still being made, particularly by third-party brands.
