How to reach first encounter Kalli the Corrupted
To get to Kalli's chamber from the starting point of the raid, you'll need to face the giant door in front of you and then look to the wall on your left. As the dialogue progresses, you'll notice that a small section of the wall rotates, omitting a purple glow. Jump in that hole in the wall.
From there you will navigate some tricky jumps that lead past a tower until you reach a tall door. Inside this door is Kalli the Corrupted's chamber, but there are some secrets to be aware of in this area.
For those of you wishing to explore a little prior to Kalli, you will be able to got to an area, accessed by a jumping puzzle, to the left of Kalli's door. Each of the ledges you can climb will be covered in green moss and following these ledges will eventually lead to a room with an ominous button in the centre. This button's use is not currently known, but after completing Kalli's encounter, you will no longer be able to access this area.
Kalli the Corrupted strategy step-by-step
Once you have got the encounter, you should assign plates/locations to each member of your fireteam. Discuss what banner you'd like to take and stand under, then get take your position.
A summary of the steps to complete the first encounter, Kalli the Corrupted are:
- Find plates corresponding to the signs under the banners in the middle and jump on them.
- Stand on the third of circular plate not occupied by a taken orb until the knight spawns.
- Kill the knight that spawns and run to the middle.
- Deal as much damage to Kalli the Corrupted until she summons her weapon.
- Hide in doors that open beneath Kalli, one per door.
- Repeat the previous steps two more times.
- After the third time you exit the doors, there will be new symbols under each banner for you to repeat the plates process again to start Kalli's damage phase again.
Kalli the Corrupted strategy in detail
As you enter the chamber of Kalli the Corrupted, you'll notice six banners in groups of two hanging from the ceiling. Each of these banners has an icon beneath that corresponds to a plate found around the arena, which can be seen floating above the plate. There are 4 possible icons that are called Infinity, Cloud/Smile, Eight(as in the number), and Split Bottom.
If you inspect the plates, you'll discover that each of them is split into three sections. After you stand on, two of these sections will be occupied by an explosive taken orb. So, to start the raid you will need to jump on these plates and remain on the safe third of your assigned plate.
Before you go jumping on any plates, you may want to coordinate with your fireteam as to how to approach this raid with as little impact as possible. There are currently two common methods. The first method is to assign each player in your fireteam one of the central banners and their focus for the rest of the encounter is to ensure that they take care of that specific symbol after every damage phase.
The alternative is to assign players a section of the room (back left, back right, spawn/bridge) and for one player to call out which of the four icons is not represented on the banners. When the fireteam understand which is missing, they must the coordinate and ensure all bases are covered - it's a difficult approach, but it allows players to always instinctively run towards some plates a little faster than the first example.
After you've jumped on the plate, you will see a pair of the taken orbs appear. As you sit on your plate, you will be attacked by enemies. Try your best to stay on your section as long as possible.
The Taken orbs will then explode and respawn on two section of the circle again. You will need to occupy the safe section of your plate until a Taken knight spawns. When the Taken knight spawns, you must kill him as this corresponds to the number of doors that spawns under Kalli in the next part.
Please note that successfully completing the wrong plate will spawn a Taken ogre in the centre of the arena.
At some point during your fight with the knights, you will be notified that Kalli is preparing to summon a weapon. When you see this message all of your fireteam must converge on the centre of the arena as soon as they kill their knights.
While Kalli conjures her weapon, you will need to deal as much damage as possible before the doors open. At some point during your damage phase, Kalli will start to move her hands and you will see her weapon start to form.
This is when a series of random doors beneath will open based on the number of knights you killed in the plate phase. Every door can protect one guardian from the lethal hit of Kalli's attack, all those that don't make it in a door will die, the same goes for any guardians hiding in the same hole. While you're in your door, you will notice that some Taken psions will spawn in the centre of the area for you to kill.
As the doors open, you should kill the enemies and return to damaging Kalli, waiting for the doors to open again. You will repeat this one more time thereafter before you will be out of doors and the plate phase will restart. It's at this point where your fireteam you once again identify the plate they need stand on again. Repeat this process until Kalli is dead.
Grab your loot. It's time for Shuro Chi the Corrupted!
